We provide support to communities through the following areas:
• Essential Foundation skills (Digital, Literacy, Numeracy)
• Employability
• Health and social wellbeing
• English, Te Reo Māori and other Community Languages
• Social Inclusion and Diversity


Our rationale –
UUNZ Community Trust aims to play a significant role in assisting these effected communities to develop language and skills to overcome barriers in finding employment, up-skilling to meet the needs of the post Covid-19 workforce and arising demand and providing guidance and support on maintaining health and well-being within families and social groups through provision of workshops, seminars, targeted training schemes, short courses and professional development.

Our strategy –
UUNZ Community Trust provides a platform for Māori, Pasifika and migrant communities
to interact, learn and rebuild and is a fundamental part of enforcing economic and social
recovery as we navigate post pandemic changes our wider community landscape. Our mission
is targeted at supporting the most vulnerable in our communities and to promote
whakawhanaungatanga with Tangata Whenua and all cultures. We celebrate cultural diversity
and the wisdom it brings in strengthening our community. At UUNZ Community Education we
encourage inclusiveness and cultural identity. We aim to empower communities by creating a
place of belonging where all learners can access the support they need. Our programmes
encourage community diversity and inclusion. We promote community participation and
advancement of education through providing workshops, seminars, training and classes to
target improvement in written and verbal English, digital, literacy and numeracy skills and
assistance to help with job seeking and employment. As a result, we feel that these targeted
learners will be empowered as they become more confident in their knowledge of Aotearoa. All
of our programs are offered and available to both Māori, Pasifika and migrant communities and
New Zealanders, bringing people together through inclusive learning and sharing of individual
experiences. Through these efforts, we seek to improve overall happiness in a diverse and
thriving community of New Zealand.
